There have been
several requests on
Gordon's website forum recently for info and photos of the equipment that he
uses, so here just for you, are some close up shots of the guitars
and more, mainly taken during the Rural Tour of Kent Oct 2006, including
some new ones added after Hadlow.
When out
on a gig Gordon generally takes 6 of the many guitars he owns with him.
All produce different sounds and are used for different effects and
tunings.
They currently include a "baby" guitar by Rob Armstrong, a "boot fair"
£5 bargain buy, a baritone made by Rob Armstrong, the green electric
Farida, a brand new Fylde and another Armstrong. Gordon prefers to use Fishman pickups and Newtone strings
on his guitars.
Photos from all three nights can be
seen below as I have now added Hadlow.

Guitars at an earlier Abingdon gig Its a good job there are 6 letters in Gordon ! Coded info ? - string gauges apparently - I think I hear an anorak zip !.. Also available in red ...
As for his other equipment, Gordon
says:
" I use a BOSS ME 50 FX UNIT, which
can be purchased from most shops for under £200. Boss RC20 LOOP STATION.
Again these have come down in price since the advent of the new supa
dupa all singing all dancing stereo version with DAYS of memory built
in!
Because of the limited space on my beaten up old FX case I have for the
time being dispensed with my pre-amp and have the BOSS Bank changing
pedals in there instead, and because I have everything going via a small
YAMAHA MG10/2 mixer, it does give me a wee bit more of an option with EQ
and levels.

I run the mixer and the RC20 via a 9 volt supply converter, again this
is on the FX board itself. I do plan to get a proper custom made flight
case for the above gizmos, and will probably get the pre-amp in there
along with my recently acquired MOORLEY volume pedal.
For my smaller gigs I use a FENDER PASSPORT 150 WATT compact PA system,
which never ceases to amaze me with it's power and clarity, and is
PERFECT for what I do. It does of course lack a lot of bottom end, but I
can cope with that because of it's lightweight portability, it really
does save on the wear and tear of lugging gear. I'm FAR too old for that
game! " Click
